Climbing season has come

MT.FUJI NEWS NEWS MFG

The annual climbing season of Mt. Fuji has finally come.
Mt. Fuji is officially "open" as of July 1st. You can see a picture of the first people who climbed to the top this year at the Asahi Newspaper Web site. These people climbed the Fuji-yoshida trail in Yamanashi prefecture. The article says the sunrise was at 4:30 AM and the temperature at the summit was 3 degrees celsius (37.4 degrees fahrenheit).
Another group of people climbed the Fujinomiya trail in Shizuoka prefecture. According to this Shizuoka Newspaper article, they were not allowed to ascend beyond the 8th station due to lingering snow.
