The opening of Shizuoka Airport is postponed due to the trees in an adjacent property which is exceeding the height restriction of Aviation Law. Shizuoka prefecture has been trying to buy up the property but couldn't reach an agreement with the owner in time.
The governor says the opening will be delayed at "latest" until July, after the runaway is shortened from 2,500 meters to 2,200 meters to meet the requirements of Aviation Law.
