Bus timetable for Kawaguchiko 5th station in September, October, and November 2009
A bus runs everyday from Kawaguchiko station (Fujikyu Railway Line) to the 5th station of Mount Fuji Kawaguchiko Trail until November 30th.
End of official climbing season
Official climbing season for 2009 ended on August 31.
Mountain huts will be closed within a few days (or weeks depending on each hut), and bus schedule will be shifted to off-season timetable.

End of Rainy Season
Japan Meteorological Agency announced that this year's rainy season is over in the Mount Fuji area. (Note: weather near the summit is variable throughout year.)
Two climbers found dead on Mount Fuji
Two climbers were found dead from cold on Mount Fuji. They climbed up from Fujinomiya Trail with other colleagues, and went missing on the way back from the summit.
Highway Bus Timetable for Fujinomiya Trail 5th station in 2009
Highway bus to the 5th station of Fujinomiya Trail is available everyday from July 18 to August 23 in 2009.
Gotemba Trail will be fully open on July 17
Finally Gotemba Trail will be open up to the summit at 12:00 (noon) on July 17, 2009.
A man was killed by rockfall
In the evening of July 13, a fallen rock struck a camper parked at the 5th station of Fujinomiya Trail, killing the owner who was in the backseat at the moment. The rock was about 1 cubic meter (about 3 cubic feet), and it smashed through the fence to strike the camper.
Fujinomiya Trail now open to the summit
Fujinomiya Trail is now open up to the summit.
As of July 14, Kawaguchiko (Fujiyoshida) Trail, Fujinomiya Trail, and Subashiri Trail are fully opened. Gotemba Trail is still open only up to the 6th station due to lingering snow.
Kawaguchiko (Fujiyoshida) Trail fully opened
Kawaguchiko (Fujiyoshida) Trail is now open up to the summit, for both ascending and descending.
Update of Fujinomiya Trail
Fujinomiya Trail will be opened up to the 9th station at 0:00 AM of July 10.
Currently it's planned to be fully opened on July 15, although the date may change depending on the lingering snow.
