Bus schedules after the climbing season, esp . in September

Posted August 14th, 2008 by German_climber

I tried to find out about the Bus schedules after the climbing season. to the different 5th stations of the trails.
I personally want to ascend Fuji San at 14th September and descend at 15th September.
I did not find reliable schedules for the Kawaguchiko Trail, which describe the after season schedule
(I was esp. interested on the Keio bus) .
I did also not find out precise data about the bus schedule for the Fujinomiya-guchi trail .
Can someone help me and refer to such after season bus schedule websites?.
I am planning to arrive at 14th September morning/noon from Narita and leave after climbing at 15th Sept to Tokyo.
Thankyou for your help,
Hans

Hans,

Here's a timetable for the highway bus from Shinjuku station to the 5th station of Kawaguchiko Trail on September 14th, 2008:
https://www.highwaybus.com/rs-web01-prd-rel/gp/info/timeTbl?lineGroupNo=...

新宿駅西口BT = Shinjuku station Nishiguchi (west entrance) Bus Terminal
富士山五合目 = 5th station of Mount Fuji

It takes about 1.5 hours by Express train from Narita airport to Shinjuku station, so it might be hard to catch these buses (1st one at 8:45 AM and 2nd at 10:55 AM) depending on your flight schedule.

You can also go to Kawaguchiko train station by train, and take a bus to the 5th station. Here's a timetable for September 2008:
http://www.fujikyu.co.jp/bus2/jikokuhyo/hikingbus_MtF5th_Kawaguchiko.htm

河口湖駅 = Kawaguchiko train station
五合目 = 5th station

The timetable for a highway bus from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko train station is here:
https://www.highwaybus.com/rs-web01-prd-rel/gp/info/timeTbl?lineGroupNo=...

Hope it helps.

I recently climbed Mt Fuji from the base on the Yoshidaguchi trail to the Kawaguchiko 5th Station area. I climbed in September and I found it very annoying to find a bus off the mountain. There are few buses running and it was extremely crowded with alot of foreigners trying to catch same bus.
