Fuji Climb September 11th - Taxis to Subashiri or Fujinomiya?
Posted August 25th, 2008 by Beingkw
Hello,
I will be in Atami on Thurs Sept 11th and would like to attempt climbing Fuji - depending on the weather of the day.
I am considering a day climb (at least part way up), partly because it seems all the huts will be closed on the Subashiri or Fujinomiya routes. Seems fairly easy to get to Fujinomiya station or Shinmatsuda station (for Subashiri) by early train but the buses are practically non existent to the Fifth stations by mid sept. So my question is...
Does any one know if I can easily get a taxi between these rail stations and the respective Fifth station? And how much it should cost?
Many thanks

hi,
Regarding the taxi fare to the 5th station of Fujinomiyta Trail, this Wbe page (http://43.244.211.243/~banno/banno19/hujisan_honbun.html) says it cost about 9,000 yen from JR Fujinomiya station. This page (http://www23.tok2.com/home/shandi/fuji1998/fuji1998.html) says it cost about 10,000 yen from JR Gotemba station.
According to the official Web site of Gotemba city (http://gotemba.jp/gnavi/transportation.html), a taxi fare from Gotemba station to the 5th station of Subashiri Trail is about 6,400 yen.
You can easily catch a taxi at a train station. They'll usually be waiting for you.
