The 5th Station of Mt. Fuji Fujinomiya Trail
Fujinomiya Trail has been famous for the starting point (the front entrance) of Mount Fuji climbing since ancient times.
This is the shortest route to the top, and the trail head itself is at a high altitude.
Mountain huts with a high capacity are located at almost equal distance, and some rest places are also available.
It is the route that allows you to enjoy comfortable mountain climbing.
In the middle of the trail, you can see the crater of the last eruption in the Hoei era (1707), located at the east side of Mt. Fuji.

The access to the 5th Station (Go-gome) of Mt. Fuji Fujinomiya Trail is as follows.
There is no direct access to Mt. Fuji by train.

Driving to Mt. Fuji is not recommended. The parking lots are almost always full, and traffic regulation is placed at peak seasons.
Take the Fuji I.C. (Exit) on Tomei Expressway. Turn Left onto Nishi-Fuji road. Take the Koizumi exit and merge onto Route 139. Turn Right onto Fujisan Sky Line (Route 180). The road leads to Fujinomiya-guchi 5th Station (Go-gome).
It takes about 60 minutes from the Fuji I.C. to Fujinomiya-guchi 5th Station (Go-gome) by car.
The parking capacity at Fujinomiya-guchi 5th Station is approximately 500-cars.
In addition, there are Nishi-Usutsuka Parking Lot, Takabachi Parking Lot and Mizugatsuka-Park Parking Lot in the middle of Fujisan Sky Line.
All of them are FREE.
To conserve the nature and decrease traffic jam of Mt. Fuji area, a traffic regulation is placed every year. The regulation prohibits private automobiles to enter the road leading to the 5th Station.
Please park at the designated parking lot, and board a shuttle bus or shuttle taxi.
