Konara / Mount Fuji Guide

Going to Japan from Wichita Kansas on errand. I intend to climb Mount Fuji there and visit the ice and wind caves in Aokigahara. Curious if I where wishing to plan those events into a day or two would that be possible. Also, is there a place I can fly into that puts me close to Fuji and are there hotels or inns etc that are withing reasonable walking distance to the mountain. Silly questions but do not know the area at all and info I find on net is confusing at best.
