Climbing Fuji - 4th July 2010

Hello,

I'm considering whether to climb Mount Fuji on 4th-5th July. I'm travelling by myself and most of the guided tours start later in July. Is anyone else considering climbing on this date?

I am working in Japan for 2 months and am planning to climb on July 2nd at around 10pm, climb all night and watching the sunrise on the 3rd if you wish to join us at station 5. There will be 7 of us total.

What Station are you climbing from? Fujinomiya or Gotemba or ??? If Fujinomiya (maybe Gotemba) we might join. There are two of us coming from Nagoya.

I will be coming from Nagoya. How will you be getting there. I was planning on climbing the Fujinomiya trail. My friends just bailed so probably just 2 of us and they were supposed to drive so not sure on transportation just yet.

We're not sure on transportation either. We might take the train even though it's long. The biggest challenge is getting from Fujinomiya Train Station to the Fujinomiya 5th Station Trailhead. There are only two buses a day and they time they leave is bad (I think 10am and 4pm). We really need a car to be able to make the timing worthwhile. Let me know if you can get a hold of a car. We live in Gifu City and can meet you in Nagoya if we need to. Also if this weekend doesn't work we might go July 10/11.

We were going to take the Fujinomiya trail but it is now only open to the 8th station because too much snow. We will now take the Kawaguchiko (Yoshida Trail) because it has officially opened and we are sure that it is safe to climb with extremely limited snow. We are making reservations today for a mountain hut. Let me know if you would want to join and sorry for the changes.

You are hiking on Friday the 2nd? Man! We have a work party on Friday so we can't go until Saturday. Sorry, I was really hoping this could work too! Have a great climb and let me know if your plans change

On 3rd July ...We are also climbing by the Kawaguchiko trail climbing all nite to reach top ..... there are two of us Gordon Wells and my 23 yr old son ... Is the kawaguckiko trail free of ice and snow at top .. do we need ice gear crampons etc ???
any help much appreiated thanks

Sorry for my english, I try to improve but I'm french ...

I'm also traveling by myself and plan to climb Mt Fuji on the 3rd-4th of July during night.

I will climb by he Kawaguchiko trail climbing all night to reach top and see the sunrise. I'll probably take this bus from Kawaguchikosta station to the 5th station:
- start from station : 21:15
- arrival at the 5th station : 22:10

If you're interested, I'll be happy to not be alone for this climbing

I come from Matsumoto by Azusa Train to Otsuki. Can yoou take this one ??

Or, it could be expensive I think, you can come to Matsumoto first, and we'll take the same train after. Mine is leaving Matsumoto at 17h18.

It will be a pleasure to go with you. Unless, it could be for an other trip.
