Climbing on September 24th 2010 night and returning on September 25th 2010

I plan to land in Tokyo on Septmeber 23rd, 2010, stay near Shinjuku, take the 9:40 am bus September 24th DIRECTLY to Kawaguchiko 5th station. The bus ride is about 2 hours and 20 minutes and 2,600 Yen one-way.

Depending on what I find there, find a place to rest until midnight (or my sleeping bag), or walk up to the 7th station and find a lodge (I understand some may be open in the Yoshida-guchi route) or some unattended shelters that may be avaialble.

We went up last weekend and that's exactly how we did it. You should be able to find a place to stay somewhere at the 7th or 8th station. Just go to the tourist information centre at the 5th station and check which huts are open and if they have anything available. Check the price as well, as they tend to be quite expensive.
We actually didn't sleep anywhere and did the whole thing in one go. Started at 10 PM at the 5th station, and got to the top a bit after 4 AM.
And don't worry about climbing alone. You'll have a lot plenty of company.
