climbing mt fuji in september...

FORUM TOPIC tfolts

i am hoping that i will be allowed to climb the mountain in September (September 9 is when i plan to climb). I see that i can get a bus to the 5th station Kawaguchiko. I understand it is after the official season, i am an experienced climber and understand the risks; is it allowed tho?

My Wife and I are going to do the climb as well on the 9th. Seems all of the folks I spoke with say all will be ok, might get some rain, but that's about it.

Good luck and have fun!

Hello!

I'm thinking of climbing alone sept. 14-15th. I've never climbed any mountain before, but (from what I read) it seems like September is a hit-or-miss time. I'm from Canada so I have reasonable cold weather gear, but is it absolutely crazy to do this? Are the trails even open?

I'm a male in my mid-20s and fairly athletic, but i don't really know if that matters at all.

Is anyone else going that time? I plan to go overnight and see the sunrise before heading back down the next day.

If this is strongly advised against, I'll probably just check things out nearby and get a view of it...

Hi,

My name is David and I'm hoping to climb Mount Fuji in the same period (somewhere between 13th and 16th of September).

I'm flying in to Tokyo on the 11th of September and will be staying in Hotel New Koyo for the first couple of days.

I have done a couple of big hikes in South America (Huayna Potosi, Huayhuash Circuit, Torres del Paine Circuit), so I feel comfortable doing it even if it is out of the season.

Let me know if you feel like doing this together (I will not be available from August 30th till September 7th due to Burning Man Festival)

If you wanne have a feel about who I am, check my blog (twobelgians.wordpress.com) or send me an email: vannestedavid AT hotmail DOT com

Take care,

Hi my name is Justin and I'll be in Japan for the month of September. I arrive Aug 31 and will be working in Tsukuba. I'm planning to climb Mt. Fuji one of the weekends, preferably the earlier the better. As of now I will be climbing alone, but would like to join a group or another climber for safety and company. I'm an experienced climber, age 31 and in great shape. If anyone is interested in climbing together, let me know. My email is quik564 AT yahoo DOT com.

We want to climb on the 15th (most likely depart early morning from Kawaguchiko an to Kawaguchiko-guchi 5th Station). Will shoot to take the last bus back.

We are looking for taxi share if that works for you.

Regards,

Arthur

Gab- Me & a friend are interested in climbing on the evening of the 14th & 15th as well. Looking for a cab share from Kawaguchiko station to 5th station to cut down on taxi costs as buses to 5th station aren't very frequent. If you want to meet up in Tokyo that is possible also and take a bus to Kawaguchiko station. Let me know at gtisye AT gmail dot com.

Thanks!
