where to keep my stuff?

FORUM TOPIC twiggy8668

I'm planning on visiting Mt Fuji during my honeymoon in July...I really want to hike Mt Fuji, but because I'm traveling from the US, I'll have all my stuff with me in a backpack for my trip. (its going to be about 3 weeks long). Do the huts have places to (safely) keep my stuff instead of lugging it all the way to the summit and back?

Curious if you did the climb and if so how it went. I'm going to Japan for 3 weeks also. I'll be there June 21-July12. I'm hoping to be able to climb the mountain in late June rather than early July. Do you have any advise you'd like to share if you did do the hike that you wished you would have known about before hand?

Thanks,
Michelle

Hi twiggy8668.
I've heard some mountain huts keep a luggage for a fee, or if you purchase something at the hut (foods, souvenirs, etc.)
If you are staying at the same hotel (in the city) before and after the climbing, you can probably safely leave your stuff at the hotel while you are climbing. A coin locker at train stations is another option.

thanks for your reply! its hard to plan something in a foreign country and you don't know anything about it. Super excited about the climb!
