Possible Mt. Fuji Eruption upcoming?

FORUM TOPIC wsundevil2011

Hello

I am interested in climbing Mt. Fuji in early July 2011. Due to all the recent seismic activity I was wondering if anyone has heard that Mt. Fuji might be getting ready to blow. I saw a few websites that said it should be due for an eruption but they weren't very reliable. I know they can predict these things but I just don't think ive been looking in the right places. Thanks

Hi. Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said no sign of possible eruption has been observed. That was the official information from Japanese government after the massive earthquake in March.

We are also worried that a big earthquake may happen in the Mount Fuji area (which may or may not coincide with eruption). According to JMA website, they can most likely predict such an earthquake 2 or 3 days in advance.
